As with any fear, approach it head on. The dark is not what is scary it is the sounds that come out of it. Just go to a dark room that you know and wander around going towards any odd sounds with a flashlight. Fear is that of the unknow so if you figure out what is there, which should be nothing, then you will be afraid of nothing.
use a light dimmer. slowly turn down the dimmer and sit for a while until you are comfortable to get up and walk to turn the dimmer down again. do this until the light is fully out (may take several days) and you are comfortable sitting in the dark.
By putting yourself in the dark. Do you have a dimmer? That would be perfect. You have to acclimate yourself and desensitize yourself to darkness. I would stay in a lit room with a lamp with a dimmer. Then, I would gradually turn down the light at intervals until it is completely dark and you are comfortable. Depending how scared you are. You can decrease the light just a little bit and sit there for a few minutes. Keep doing this everyday till you’re ready to push yourself more until it is completely dark. If you’re heart is pounding and you are anxious. Just ride it out by telling yourself good things!
What happens when you close your eyes? The place your in is the same place, familiarise your surroundings. Theres nothing to fear , same place only a little harder to see.

When in bed try listening to audio tracks that play soothing sounds like waves or babbling creeks. Something that is soothing and makes you feel there are beautiful things out there in the dark. Additionally you might want to try visualizing yourself - after closing your eyes when in bed- at a very secure, safe, and beautiful place.
usually theres a reason you fear the dark .. my nephew was terrified someone would to take him… find out the real reason is and laugh it out.. you heard me ..joke about it and belittle it to the point where its too stupid to think about..

just relax and put this in your mind its just the dark nothing will happen. you can also try a psycologist

Take it in little steps:
First if u have a closet light turn that on so itr wont b soo dark
then once u r ready 4 the next step turn a little lamp or something with less light
Next u can put ur tv on sleep wen u go 2 sleep make it a regular size on so not much light will b seen
then take it 2 the next step and use a nightlight it might b a little childish but u’ll feel good once u conquered ur fear
and finally dont use anything there u go u conquered ur fear
