I recently got into a bad car accident. Some guy wasn’t paying attention at a red light and slammed into the back of my car. Now I have a strong fear of driving. I cant even get into a car w/o having a panic attack. I always have to get someone else to drive me everywhere. What should I do to get over my fear?

Get out and drive. Facing your fear is the only way to conquer it.
The same thing happened to a friend of mine. The way he conquered it was by buying a car simulation game and started playing it, then when he could do it with no fear he started going go karting which helped him a lot (I would reccommend doing it) the for a while he just sat in the car and imagined driving. Soon he started driving but up and down a country road then he went on to proper roads and he’s been fine ever since…. This took him about 2 months so if your lookin for a quick fix this isn’t the way
Hope this helps
just do it. just drive, that guy was only one person. do it slowly, drive up and down your road, then next time drive to a local shop, then the next time drive to work etc.
Go to your Community Health Agency and see a psychologist/psychiatrist. People pretty much have to be able to drive themselves around–or else be totally dependent upon others for transportation. AND we all end up being involved in accidents! I was stopped at a light, and was the third car behind. A car hit me, and smashed my VW, and pushed the two cars in front of me out into the intersection! The aged driver told the police that I backed up and HIT HIM! It totalled my VW. Luckily, I had just dropped my little girl off at her pre-school! Now, at 82, I’m still driving, BUT, I’m going to take some driving tests to evaluate my driving. If nothing else, I’ll get a 3-wheel bicycle with a little warning flag on it!
