Intellectually agreeing with something, but not believing it?

by FearLessDoMore on March 19, 2010

I have this problem a lot. My fear for death has been very prominent in the last 3 months, but the quotes fo Socrates increased my anxiety immensely. I thought the quotes made a lot of sense, but still know I fear dieing as it’s my worst enemy. I have a problem with accepting my own beliefs over overs/the habitual belief.

Do you have similar problems/How do you overcome them?

Thanks.

People agree with the best possible option at the time with what information they have.

Until more information becomes known to you, what you agree with may be a partial true that needs amending.

I used to have similar problems, but I just harmonized my logic, emotions and body into one single drive…death talk doesn’t scare me anymore…So I don’t deal with that much, but then again I’m not in a situation where I think I’m going to die anytime soon. If that situation arises, I’m sure my emotions on death are going to arise with it.

In order to overcome fear you must face it. Like if you have fear in cockroach you should put yourself in a room full of cockroach.
