Macbeth Termology “yet do i fear thy nature”?

by FearLessDoMore on February 16, 2010

hello, i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with some termonology for macbeth with quotes. for example, when in the retold version macbeth says "if i make a mistake, it hurts me. i mean actual physical pain." this would be hyperbole because he is clearly over exagerating his feelings for the passion of his work..
i was wondering if you would be able to help me with the following quotes…

“I fear thy nature – it is too full o’ the milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way.”
"drunk on his own success"
"the pig died for us."
"expect they meant to… memoriees anoteher golgotha"
"this is a terrible tradgedy" … (it quite clearly is a tradedy becaue that is the genre of macbeths play.)

some of these quotes are lines i have picked from the retold version. any help or ideas would be appreciated, just so i can understand what to write about a little more.
i do not need a description of what they are saying through these quotes..
i need english termonology,
for example hyperbole or personification.

“I fear thy nature – it is too full o’ the milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way.”
I believe in this one he feels he is being played a fool.

"drunk on his own success"
Have you ever had a boss that was overly cocky and arrogant, similar to that

"the pig died for us."
Not sure I would need more to go on

"expect they meant to… memoriees anoteher golgotha"
see prior

"this is a terrible tradgedy" … (it quite clearly is a tradedy becaue that is the genre of macbeths play.)Yea you said it.

Please specify whether you need the context or figure of speech.
The following is a list of possible figures of speech and explanation for the given lines.
1.milk ohf human kindness–metaphor–kindness is regarded as milk; it is also pun because of the play on the word–mankind and kindness–two words are fused to create a new word with a double meaning.(nature of mankind and kindness)
2.drunk with success–metaphor– success is regarded as wine in intoxication.
3.The pig died for us–Metaphor–the man who died is regarded as a pig–he and the pig are regarded as the same in insignficance.
4. another Golgotha–Metonymy–Golgotha the place name is used to denote the intense mental suffering that accompanied the Crucifixion of Christ that took place there.
5.Hyperbole– exaggeration of idea–Also Alliteration–repetition of initial sound ‘t’.
Please take care of your spellings–even the best answer can be marred by spelling mistakes.
Good luck.
